The Adventure

Over your Experience with us, you will coast through the stunning, world-class Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails network. Your experience leaders will guide you safely, to the places less ridden, opening up your senses to the brutal beauty of North East Tasmania.

The Accommodation

‍Nestled in the heart of the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails network, your accommodation is private and unique. You’ll dine in a central hub building that peeks through the copse of Tasmanian Blackwood trees and down to the Cascade River Valley below. After each evening of fine Tasmanian food and wine, laughter and relaxation, you will retire to your unique, architecturally-designed quarters; a Pod.

The Food

Throughout your Blue Derby Pods Ride experience, your taste buds will be treated to a selection of the finest fare Tasmania has to offer. Crafted locally, and featuring almost exclusively local Tasmanian produce, your food experience will be nutritious, refuelling and mouth-watering.

Itinerary: 3-Day Iconic Experience

Day One

<p><strong>Awaken; </strong>The Blue Derby Pods Ride journey begins from Launceston, Tasmania. Here you will meet your experience leaders, before setting off with us out to the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails network. You will begin coasting along the world-class mountain biking trails mid-morning.</p> <p><strong>Adventure; </strong>After conquering your first morning on the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails network, you will settle into a late alfresco picnic lunch in the heart of the stunning Cascade Valley. Your afternoon adventure is optional; you can continue exploring the trails or relax in the Tasmanian bush setting.</p> <p><strong>Unwind;</strong> Once nestled into the hub and your pod, your experience leaders will delight your taste buds with a local, fresh dinner featuring Tasmanian ingredients. After this, let the special experience of your first night in your pod rejuvenate you.</p>

Day Two

<p><strong>Awaken; </strong>Waking refreshed from a night in your pods, we’re ready for another day of adventures. The choice is yours today, join your experience leaders on a morning ride through a diverse range of Tasmanian forest, viewpoints and adrenaline pinches, or continue relaxing at the Blue Derby Pods Ride hub.</p> <p><strong>Adventure; </strong>After a delectable lunch prepared by your experience leaders back at the Blue Derby Pods Ride hub, again you have a decision to make; peruse the library in the hub, or join the afternoon ride around the Cascade Dam through rainforest, tackling some world-class berms along the way.<br /></p> <p><strong>Unwind; </strong>Feeling invigorated and experiencing a new found clarity, tonight you’ll toast to your day’s adventures. Indulging in another gourmet dinner prepared by your experience leaders, you’ll retire satisfied to your secluded pods for one last night.</p>

Day Three

<p><strong>Awaken;</strong> Starting later today, you’ll enjoy a slow breakfast at the hub. After, you’ll ride out to the tiny town of Derby and be taken to the top of the Blue Tier. This is the highest point of the Blue Derby network, and the start of your descent through the lush rainforest to Weldborough.<br /></p> <p><strong>Adventure; </strong>Feeling high on fresh air and endorphins, you’re free to relax into your later alfresco lunch. It will feel deserved and delicious. Reflecting on the kilometres you’ve travelled, and adventures you’ve had, it will be hard to take the smile off your face.<br /></p> <p><strong>Unwind;</strong> Journeying back to where you started in Launceston, you’ll toast to your three-day mountain biking adventure. Any apprehensions from the first morning are now a distant memory, and have instead been replaced with the brutal beauty of the Blue Derby Pods Ride experience.</p>
