Global Award for Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails

In March 2019 we saw the iconic Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails host the world-famous Enduro World Series for the second time.

The Enduro World Series is one of the world's most prestigious mountain biking events. Spanning over a year it visits eight globally recognised mountain bike destinations.

In 2019, Derby was the second location on the Enduro World Series list. The event attracted hundred's of professional riders and their media crew to the town of Derby for the multi-day event. Derby is the only location in Australia to host this event to date, which is an incredible feat in itself.

The 2019 Enduro World Series event in Derby lived up to all expectations, with crowds flooding the sides of the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails to heckle riders as they rode down in speeds many of us come not even fathom.

As a result of this incredible event, the riders, team managers and media get to vote on their favourite trail of that season, and for 2019 Derby's trail Kumma-Gutza took out the number one spot.

This is an incredible award, and one as tourism operators in the Blue Derby Mountain Bike trails we are more than proud of. Among many things, it demonstrates the craftsmanship of World Trail who design and built the Blue Derby Trails, the Blue Derby maintenance team who keep the network in such incredible shape and overall how phenomenal the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails are on a global scale.
